The G. Thomas Allen Quintet, led by jazz vocalist, composer, music educator and MSU Alum comes to Morgan in a 2022 Homecoming kickoff event. Mr. Allen's unique, soul-infused phrases paired with improvisation that is contemporary stylizing to straight-ahead jazz helped him to win the 2021 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition. In fact, he is recognized as the first, and only male, in history to hold the prestigious SASSY Award.
